What should I know about Botox aftercare?

Aftercare belongs to your clinician

Your clinician is the one to set your aftercare, and a written copy is worth asking for. What we can tell you is what to ask for before you book, so that aftercare and follow-up are part of the price conversation and not a surprise afterward.

What sits behind the question

Ask the clinic for its aftercare instructions ahead of the visit and ask who you contact if you have a question afterward. Then ask the pricing questions that go with it. Is a check-in visit included in the quote? If a touch-up is needed, how is it billed? Clinics answer these differently, and the quote only means something once you know.

For general reading, the MedlinePlus page on Botox and botulinum toxin injections and the Cleveland Clinic drug page on cosmetic Botox are written for patients. Two more are worth a look: the American Society of Plastic Surgeons page on botulinum toxin and its blog post on what you need to know about Botox. We have not matched their contents to any one clinic's instructions, so follow your own clinician's guidance.

What the aftercare line on each Botox quote should say

  • Ask for the clinic's aftercare instructions in writing before your visit.
  • Ask who to contact with questions afterward.
  • Ask whether a follow-up visit or touch-up is included in the quote.
  • Ask clinics in Redmond or Bellevue the same questions so you can compare the answers.

Which aftercare terms to get in writing before you book

We explain pricing and are not a medical practice, so confirm every aftercare step with the clinician who treated you.
