What if you don't like the results?

What if you don't like the results?

Ask about the policy early

The time to learn a clinic's policy on unwanted results is while you are still comparing quotes. Whether a clinic will fix, adjust or refund a result you are unhappy with is a policy, and it is reasonable to ask for it in writing ahead of the first appointment. This page is about dermal fillers, where that conversation is easy to skip.

Why the policy is part of the price

Two pages from the med spa industry are worth reading: the American Med Spa Association article on what to look for in a safe med spa visit and its patient guide. Both are good places to see what questions a patient is encouraged to ask.

A quote that looks lower can leave the cost of a fix to you. Another quote may look higher and already cover a follow-up visit. You can only compare them if you ask the same questions at each clinic.

Questions about touch-ups and fixes

  • Who decides whether a result I am unhappy with needs adjusting?
  • Is a touch-up visit included, discounted or charged in full?
  • Who treats me if something needs correcting, and is that billed?
  • Will the answers be given to me in writing before I pay?

Taking the answers with you

Take the questions above to each consultation and note the answers next to the quote. Treat a clinic that will not answer plainly as an answer in itself.

If you already have a result you dislike

This site is about the price of a fix, not clinical care, so if you already have a result you are worried about, contact the provider who treated you or another licensed provider.
